Bluecol welcomes the valuable work by Mark Spencer, Member of Parliament for Sherwood, in highlighting the widespread concerns of many people across the United Kingdom about the effects of antifreeze when accidentally consumed, particularly by cats.
Bluecol has been keeping Britain’s motorists on the roads through the winter months since 1937 with a product range including antifreeze. The effect of our products on humans and animals alike is rigorously researched.
All Bluecol antifreeze products contain a bittering agent. The ingredient we use in our formula is the bitterest substance ever discovered, and deters children and pets alike from consuming the products.
We use bittering agents in Bluecol antifreezes to avoid the very effects highlighted by Mr Spencer. The formula is safe to use in accordance with our dilution ratios stated on the packaging.
The presence of the bittering agent ensures animals are strongly deterred from consuming any of the product. It is worth noting that further dilution beyond our recommendations will weaken the bittering agent alike.
Mr Spencer says: “I welcome and support the lead that Bluecol have taken, it demonstrates again British companies lead the world in products that protect animals and the environment. I hope the Government will encourage others to keep pace with their lead.”

“I recently purchased a bottle of spray on Demon Shine and am amazed by the results. I was sceptical about the claims on the bottle, but after using it, I know the claims are fully justified. Not only did I polish my car in under 20 minutes, but the shine was absolutely incredible, and it was achieved with very little effort.”
